Prediction of Nonlinear Flexural Behavior of Continuous RC Beams Pre-Damaged by Corrosion

چکیده

Numerical simulation models capable of predicting the nonlinear flexural behavior continuous reinforced concrete (RC) beams with corroded reinforcement were developed. Laboratory tests conducted to validate predictions numerical models. A parametric study was carried out examine effect varying location and severity corrosion on RC beams. The load capacity decreased linearly an increase in corrosion, regardless its location. sagging region was, however, more detrimental than hogging corrosion. rate strength reduction for beam approximately 70% higher that concurrently exhibited poorest performance. both regions 2.7 times only. moment redistribution ratio at ultimate only ranged from 2–22%. highest 22–50% load. simultaneously a constant 18%

Prediction of Nonlinear Torsional Behavior of High Strength RC Beams

Seismic design criteria based on performance of structures have recently been adopted by practicing engineers in response to destructive earthquakes. A simple but efficient structural-analysis tool capable of predicting both the strength and ductility is needed to analyze reinforced concrete (RC) structures under such event. A three-dimensional lattice model is developed in this study to analyz...

Flexural Behavior of Reinforced HPFRCC Beams

High Performance Fiber Reinforced Cementitious Composite (HPFRCC) materials exhibit strain hardening behavior with multiple cracking under tensile loading. In this paper, experimental and parametric studies are performed to assess the influence of using HPFRCC material instead of normal concrete in reinforced concrete beams. After calibrating the experimental results, the analytical results inc...

Structural behaviour of RC beams with external flexural and flexural–shear strengthening by FRP sheets

This paper presents experimental research on reinforced concrete (RC) beams with external flexural and flexural–shear strengthening by fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) sheets consisting of carbon FRP (CFRP) and glass FRP (GFRP). The work carried out has examined both the flexural and flexural–shear strengthening capacities of retrofitted RC beams and has indicated how different strengthening arra...

Flexural Capacity of Rc Beams Strengthened with Srp and Srg

The use of externally bonded Steel-Reinforced Polymer (SRP) and Steel Reinforced Grout (SRG) composites is a promising new technology for increasing the flexural and shear capacities of reinforced concrete (RC) members. The reinforcement system in these composites is a sheet made up of unidirectional cords consisting of tightly wound ultra high strength steel wires. The reinforcement can be mol...

Parametric study on Nonlinear Finite Element Analysis on flexural behaviour of RC beams using ANSYS

Nonlinear behaviour of RC beams is complex due to involvement of various parameters. Many attempts have been made by the past researchers to predict the behaviour using ANSYS. The accuracy and convergence of the solution depends on factors such as mesh density, constitutive properties of concrete, convergence criteria and tolerance values etc., Past researchers have used various values of the a...
